Dr. Pedro Rosa-Neto
MD, PhD

An assistant professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry at McGill University, affiliated to the Douglas Research Centre. He is a clinical neurologist with expertise in quantification of brain function using imaging techniques, in particular Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Dr. Rosa-Neto's research interests focus on imaging biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases. He directs the laboratory for translational neuroimaging, which aims to use imaging techniques to advance the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease to a preclinical stage. Dr. Rosa-Neto research is funded by Alzheimer's Association USA (Alzheimer's Association Young Investigator), Canadian Foundation for innervation (CFI) , Fonds de la Recherche en Santé du Québec (FRSQ), Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and Nussia & André Aisenstadt Foundation. Dr. Paolo Vitali

Dr. Paolo Vitali
MD, FRCPC, PhD

A board certified neurologist (FRCPC) and neuropsychologist. He is neurologist at the CIUSSS Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal and at McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging. Dr. Vitali obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology from University Vita-Salute San Raffaele in 2004 and in Biomedical Sciences (Neuropsychology) from Université de Montréal in 2007. His research focus was on language disorders (aphasia) and cerebral plasticity following brain damage as measured by neuroimaging techniques. Since 2005, he has been a registered neuropsychologist with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. After graduating from the Medical School of Université Laval in 2010, he completed a residency program in Neurology at Université de Montréal and a PGY6 training in electromyography at McGill (2015). During his clinical training in neurology, he continued his research training. In fact, as part of his residency program he completed a two-month research fellowship at the Memory and Aging Center (UCSF-San Francisco) working on the identification of early-affected brain regions responsible for language deficits in atypical forms of dementia, and a six-month research rotation at the McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging working on the physiopathological mechanisms underlying dementia. His research training has been funded by FRQS in 2015. He has also collaborated in research studies funded by Alzheimer’s Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation. Dr. Vitali is currently involved in the assessment and follow-up of patients presenting with neurodegenerative diseases, especially atypical dementia presenting with language impairments. He is also an investigator in the DIAN-TU-001 clinical trial (Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network Trials Unit study).
